Finding the right therapist is personal; it’s about connection. You should feel heard, understood, and safe. Their approach should match your needs. Share your goals early on to ensure they can support you, and don’t be discouraged if they suggest a better fit. Practical factors matter too—location, availability, and cost should be manageable, not stressful. Most importantly, trust your gut!

The number of sessions varies based on your goals, needs, and pace. Many start with weekly sessions for a few months to a year, then taper off when it feels right. Others prefer biweekly sessions, which can extend therapy but still be effective. Ultimately, the pace is up to you!

I understand life happens. If you miss a session, there's no charge the first time. After that, missed sessions without 24-hour notice will incur the full fee. I appreciate your understanding, as this helps me provide the best service to all my clients.

I approach counseling from a blend of cognitive behavioral, family systems, and strengths-based perspectives. This means I focus on thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while considering the broader systemic influences (like family and culture) and leveraging your strengths.
I believe counseling is a journey of change, exploration, and growth. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, it’s my responsibility to bring the highest level of professional expertise to our work together. My goal is to provide a supportive, encouraging, and challenging environment that fosters your growth. I may suggest readings, "homework," or recommend consulting a physician if medical treatment or medication is necessary.

In the first session, we’ll get to know each other and discuss your goals and concerns. We’ll talk about your current situation, challenges, and relevant personal history, but only share what you’re comfortable with. This is also your time to ask me any questions about myself, the therapy process, or how we can work together. The goal is to build trust and start creating a plan that aligns with your needs and goals.
